A style of cutting a diamond (or other transparent gemstone) in the basic rose cut style but having a 12-sided base and 36 facets cut in two horizontal rows. There are 12 triangular facets in the upper row (called the crown), forming a low 12-sided pyramid, and 24 facets in the lower row in the form of isosceles triangles, 12 of which have their bases abutting the upper facets and their points touching the girdle, and 12 alternating ones having their bases forming the girdle. A stone so cut is higher than one with a Dutch rose cut.
