Silver alloy

An alloy of silver with copper to produce a metal hard enough to be workable. In Great Britain, the legal standard (Sterling Silver) is 92,5% silver (fineness of 0,925), but for Britannia silver (no longer made) it was 95,84%. The standard in the United States is 92,1%.
